Originally opening in 1918 as a Vaudevillian Silent Film Theatre, the theatre entertained more than 1,000 people per performance and was a designated entertainment hotspot for many years. One of the first cinemas in Toronto to convert to "Talkies", the Capitol continued to entertain Torontonians until the mid 1990's. The Capitol opened again in 1999, renovated, re-furbished and rejuvenated to a beautiful event space, reminiscent of Hollywood Glamour Days. The Capitol Event Theatre's marquee & poster boxes showcase beautiful weddings, MItzvahs, corporate galas, award dinners and fundraisers. The original stage spotlights present day performers with the sophistication & integrity of a mature & intimate stage. Ideal as backdrop for both period & contemporary projects. Conveniently located midtown Toronto, at Yonge & Eglinton; on the subway line, 24 hour bus, next to Green P parking lot & 5 minute drive to the 401.
No hazers, fog machines, pyrotechnics, confetti cannons.
