COVID-19 Safety Plan
We ask that everyone follows these measures (as per the BC Centre for Disease Control & WorkSafeBC):
Vigorous screening must be done by the renter with everyone entering the studio. The following cannot enter studio:
- Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days including fever, chills, new or worsening cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, and new muscle aches or headache
- Anyone directed by Public Health to self-isolate
- Anyone who has arrived from outside of Canada or who has had contact with a confirmed COVID-19 must self-isolate for 14 days
At the studio please:
- Wash your hands upon your arrival
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
- Cover your cough or sneeze
- Keep a 6 foot distance between everyone at all times and wear a mask. Mask wearing is mandatory at all times even if you are from the same household. The only exception is for photography subjects having their makeup done and their photo taken
A complete contact list of all individuals present on set, the times they were present, and their roles, must be maintained by the renter to facilitate contact tracing in the event of a positive case. This contact sheet should include names, phone numbers, and addresses and be kept for 30 days after the shoot date.
The studio has enough space to ensure a 6-foot distance between people. We also have a 42-inch screen with a 12-foot HDMI cable to plug into your laptop. This way your client and team can view the photos while maintaining their distance from the photographer.
To improve ventilation please keep the overhead fans running at all times. To turn on the ceiling fan that is closest to the kitchen, turn on the light switch for the office/wardrobe room. Open windows and the front door as much as possible to promote air circulation. The standing (ie pedestal) fans should not run facing into the room at head height as this can cause spread of COVID-19. Instead please only use them lowered and facing towards a wall.
The bathroom must be thoroughly cleaned after every use with any surface touched (taps, handles, soap dispenser, light switch etc) wiped down with a disinfectant wipe. We have disinfectant wipes available for people to use in the bathroom.
The kitchen can only be used for food styling. If you need the kitchen a single designated person should be the only person using it. Please let us know if you do use the kitchen so that it can be cleaned thoroughly. The coffee machine, kettle and all of our utensils, plates, cups etc should NOT be used. It is recommended that all food and drink should not be shared in any way. Consider having all individuals bring their own food and drink to reduce the risk of contamination.
If you or someone on your team becomes unwell while you are at the studio, we ask that you immediately put on a mask, sanitize your hands, isolate and call 811 or access https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en for further guidance. If you are severely ill, call 911. You will find a disposable mask in the bathroom cabinet. Please also let your studio contact know right away so they can come and close the studio for you.
As part of our precautions we now have a mandatory cleaning COVID-19 fee of $100 to allow for increased cleaning of high touch surfaces in the studio. We ask that the studio be returned to the way that you found it, otherwise subject to our usual cleaning fee of an additional $150.
As photographers ourselves, we know first hand how hard it can be to rent a studio space at a reasonable rate in Vancouver. So we want to share our studio with other Vancouver creatives with hourly and daily rentals for photoshoots and workshops.

- 16 ft Cove (painting of cove $150 fee)
- Ceiling height of 14.5 feet between the rafters and 11.5 feet to the rafters
- Loading bay
- Full kitchen
- Hair and Makeup station
- One 5 ft clothing rack on wheels
- Workstation on wheels
- Wardrobe room
- Firenze Studio Stand + Manfrotto 405 Pro Geared head
- Multiple 4 x 8 ft black and white foam core sheets
- Multiple table tops
- 2 ladders
- 5 folding tables
- 4 high stools
Day rate is listed as a 10 hour day to allow time for setup and take down.
Please note that there are scuff marks on the front 8 feet or so of the floor of the cove (ie the white backdrop). If you need the floor of the cove to be pristine white for your rental, there is an additional fee of $150 for painting the cove.
Our listed rate does not include 5% GST which will be added when a booking is made.
Photographic lighting is not included.
No events or parties allowed.
No pets due to severe allergies.
Please note that the studio is not good for recording audio. We are in an industrial area with trucks going back and forth all day in front of the studio. The walls inside are very thin too so we often hear our neighbours.

Everyone at the photoshoot must adhere to our COVID-19 safety plan listed in our description. You must keep a list of everyone's names and phone numbers at your photo session for 30 days after the shoot in case contact tracing is needed.
With the vigorous COVID-19 screening required of everyone entering the studio, we cannot let anyone into the studio until you, the renter, have arrived on site and introduced yourself to your studio contact.
No events or parties allowed.
No pets due to severe allergies.
No smoking or vaping inside the studio or outside within 6 meters of the studio front doors and windows.
We ask that you leave the studio in the condition that you found it otherwise subject to an additional $150 cleaning fee.
There is a 10 minute grace period if you are running late at the end of your booking. Otherwise overtime is subject to $116/hour (+GST) late fee with a minimum of a 1 hour charge.
Multiple day rentals are for 10 hour days. The day rate is for a 10 hour day however for multiple day rentals you can use the time as you wish. For example we’ve had some renters doing a 14 hour day on one day and then two 8 hour days for a total of 30 hours for the 3 days. If you find your team needs extra time than the 30 hours then please let us know and the hourly rate would be our usual $58/hour (+GST). The only caveat is the day of departure which is outlined below.
Check out time needs to be within our usual working hours which is until 8pm on weekdays and until 6pm on weekends. If your departure time is between 8pm to 11pm on a weekday or between 6pm to 9pm on weekends, you will be charged $116 (+GST) per hour. After 11pm during weekdays and after 9pm on the weekends the overtime fee increases to $116 (+GST) for each 15 minutes.
