We used this space to throw a birthday party for my husband and it was the perfect spot! Comfortably fit 30 of our friends and enough amenities and space for our caterer to set up the night. Amanda and team were awesome to work with!

I was looking for a reasonably priced, open and minimalist space to host a surprise birthday party. This space was very reasonably priced and seemed perfect for my event. THE POSITIVES: My guests were impressed with the space, and it was a perfect size for a party of about 20 guests. Great location, easily accessible by skytrain. Very flexible with decorating. The long counter on the cafe side is perfect for serving food. THE NEGATIVES: The disclaimer about the sofa area being replaced with counters is really not an accurate or fair description of what has happened to this space. When I read the word "counters", I pictured counters that the guests could still use to place their food and drinks. I was not expecting a full barista area functioning as a separate tea business within the cafe. The pictures provided on this website clearly do not reflect the space as it looks today either. I booked the space based on the photos on this site as well as the photos of private events found on the cafe's Facebook Page. None of the photos showed how different the space now looks with the addition of this business. I went to the space maybe one month in advance to ask some questions, and the staff there were very friendly and helpful. I was quite surprised though, on the day of my event, that the same person I had spoken to upon the first meeting did not know that there was an after-hours private event being held that day. I was running late, and was lucky that my friend was already on site, so I asked her to touch base with the staff to let them know I was running behind. It is concerning that the staff did not know to expect a private party, and I do wonder what would have happened if nobody from my party was present at time of closing.

This space was exactly what we were looking for and it was easy to organize everything with Amanda.
I threw a surprise 40th birthday for my husband using this space for about 50 people. We hired our own caterers and obtained a liquor license. The space was perfect and the party was a success. The only issue we encountered was the bathroom key went missing for a while. The guests at the party were impressed with the space and mentioned they would consider doing the same for future parties.
Amanda and her team were incredible! From the booking to the party clean up, they were there every step of the way. We'd definitely recommend this venue - it was a perfect spot for our celebration!
